Ione Hanson
Ione Frances Hanson (Cooke) was born in London, England Sept. 26, 1944. She immigrated to the U.S. with her mother in 1947. She grew up in Anamoose, N.D.
Ione married Raymond Hanson Oct. 21, 1962. They raised seven children on a farm in central North Dakota.
Ione trained and became a certified nursing assistant. She worked for Trinity Hospital in Minot N.D., until they moved to Custer, S.D. Ione then worked for the nursing home and assisted living facilities there.
Ione was crafty. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting in her spare time.
Ione Hanson, of Minot, N.D., died Monday, June 1, 2020, in her daughter’s home. She was 75.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Frank Cooke and Violet Stuber; and daughters Jean Hanson and Barbara Haugen.
Ione is survived by her children, Violet Hanson, Kathleen (Sean) Meehan, Sophie Hanson, Alan (Sylvia) Hanson, Melissa (Terry) Steinhouse and Cindy (Eric) Swanson; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Family will host a memorial gathering by invitation June 27 at 1 p.m. in Surrey, N.D.
