Bracketing the end to summer tourism and the Buffalo Roundup, the second annual Harvest Moon Festival is this Saturday, Oct. 8, at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort.
This yearly hoorah is hosted by Custer Hospitality and will celebrate with a full day of events.
From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., games, live music and food vendors will be taking over the campground.
The festival is family-friendly and includes a bouncy house for children, and a fall carnival theme with cotton candy, popcorn, a pumpkin patch and hay rides.
The Harvest Moon Festival will feature local artist Roy Hendrickson at noon and then a cornhole game will begin at 2 p.m. (no pregame registration required).
The pie eating contest is scheduled for 3 p.m. and then the music headliner, Camp Comfort, takes the stage at 7 p.m.
The festival night ends with a bonfire and if a traveler is in need of accommodations, Jessica Noteboom, marketing director at Custer Hospitality, said there’s still discounted availability at their sites (Holiday Inn, Super 8, onsite cabins/teepees) with “a price point for every traveler,” she said.
Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort is located in Custer at 245 Centennial Drive.
