Louis Henderson
Louis Dale Henderson was born Aug. 16, 1946, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Elvin and Elsie Henderson.
Louis was a Dairyman in Ellicott, Colo., for over 30 years. He was well known for his ability to select quality cattle.
Henderson won many awards for “top producing herd” and “top butter fat” of Colorado. After retiring from the dairy business, Louis found himself in South Dakota, where he lived the remaining years of his life.
Louis had a larger than life personality; he never met a stranger that didn’t become a friend. Louis enjoyed garage sales, bowling and dancing. He also enjoyed sports and never missed his kids’ sporting events.
Louis died Oct. 1, 2023. He was 77.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Elsie Henderson; his sister, Donna Lou; brother-in-law, John Wands; and Orbin (Junior) Hall.
Louis is survived by his wife, Bonnie Henderson; sisters, Virgina Wands, Elvis (Dale) Grau and Carolyn Hall; children, David (Laura) Henderson, Louis Henderson, Albert Henderson, Robin (Troy) Crippen, Elvin Henderson, and Zion Henderson. Bonnie’s children are Anya (Juan) Hartpence, Kendra Spear, Jesse Roltgen, Samuel (Tiffany) Hartpence and Charlie Ann Hartpence.
Louis and Bonnie have 20 grandchildren.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, S.D.
