Ranger girls begin region play

On Feb. 14 the Hill City High School Ranger girls basketball team had a home game against the Custer Wildcats. The Rangers beat the Wildcats once already this season and brought home yet another win. The game ended 43-33 in the Rangers’ favor. 
Next up, the Ranger girls faced the Wall Eagles for a home game Feb. 17. The Rangers took the lead in the first quarter, but the Eagles came back strong. 
After the third quarter, the game was at 40-28, and the Eagles solidified their victory with a final score of 59-39. This was the final game of the Rangers’ regular season. 
The Girls Basketball Class A Region 8A quarterfinal will take place Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Custer Armory where the Ranger girls will once again square off with the Wildcats. The game was postponed from Tuesday night due to the impending snowstorm.
