Christmas services scheduled
Custer County churches are holding special services to celebrate the Christmas season this week and several will have services on Friday, Christmas Eve.
In Custer, Christmas Eve services are planned for Custer Lutheran Fellowship ELCA at 4 and 6 p.m. with candle lighting and holy communion at both services.
Custer Community Church is planning a Carol and Story Service featuring candle lighting at 5:30 p.m. and Crossroads Church will hold its Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m.
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will be holding a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. and will also have a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will observe the Holy Day of Obligation: The Nativity of the Lord with masses on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. and on Christmas Day at 8 a.m.
Shepherd of the Hills Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold a service on Christmas Day at 10 a.m. featuring the “Nine Carols and Lessons” based on King’s College, Cambridge, England, historic traditional service.
Mountainview Baptist Church will hold a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. and will have its regular Sunday morning services on the 26th with an afternoon potluck but no 6 p.m. evening service.
The United Methodist Church of Pringle is also planning a Christmas Eve candle lighting service at 4 p.m.
In Hermosa, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will hold a Quiet Christmas Service—a candlelight service with communion—on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve services are also planned for 3, 5 and 7 p.m. Those services will also include communion.
The church is also inviting everyone to join them on Sunday the 26th at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate Christmas.
All of the churches mentioned here will hold their regular Sunday morning services at the regular times on the 26th.
