Voters choose McNulty, Parks for Keystone board

 

Voter turnout in Keystone was high for the two open Keystone board positions. The tiny town of 240 people had 105 people cast ballots in last night’s election

Incumbent Casey McNulty ran on a platform of fiscal responsibility and holding organizations in town accountable. He 52 received votes.

Will Parks, who saw himself as a fresh light for Keystone, was the only candidate who had not previously held a trustee position. Parks received the most votes with 75..

Lynette Tyon, a former trustee, described herself as fair and open-minded and garnered 42 votes. 

“It’s apparent fiscal responsibility is important to voters,” McNulty said. “I hope the voters will hold organizations accountable and I look forward to the next three years. 

Parks said he is excited about winning and is looking  forward to serving on the council and getting to know more people.

“I look forward to making Keystone a better place,” he said.

The town will canvas the election April 19.

Parks and McNulty will be sworn in at the May 3 meeting and will immediately take office.
